So we created a tool you can use to <b>warm up an email address for free<\/b>. GMass no longer offers a warmup service.<\/p>\n<p>An email warmup tool will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Send email<\/b>\u00a0from your account to other designated accounts<\/li>\n<li><b>Open<\/b>\u00a0those emails and \u201cread\u201d them<\/li>\n<li><b>Respond<\/b>\u00a0to a strategic percentage of your emails<\/li>\n<li><b>Mark them as \u201cnot spam\u201d<\/b>\u00a0if they go to the spam folder<\/li>\n<li>Mark some as\u00a0<b>\u201cimportant\u201d<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That lets email clients know <b>you\u2019re sending valuable, anticipated emails that recipients want<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 which are the exact types of emails that make it to the inbox, not the spam folder.<\/p>\n<p>The email warmup tools will start by sending a small number of emails, then gradually ramp up from there.<\/p>\n<p>As much as it\u2019s tempting to jack up the pace to try to get your account warmed up faster,\u00a0<b>the slow ramp up is strategic<\/b>. It simulates a normal cadence and <b>helps train algorithms<\/b>\u00a0to see that emails coming from your email account are desirable and highly engaging.<\/p>\n<p>All of this warming up serves one main purpose:\u00a0<b>You\u2019re \u201cpriming\u201d your account for bigger campaigns<\/b>. And, in the case of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/cold-email\">cold emails<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/gmail-mass-email\">mass emails<\/a>, you\u2019ll be sending campaigns featuring lots of very similar messages.<\/p>\n<p>Once your address is warm, the email clients shouldn\u2019t blink at a cold email or mass email campaign \u2014 after all, you now have a <b id=\"needs\">reputation for sending high volumes of quality emails<\/b> that belong in people\u2019s inboxes.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Why Do I Need to Warm Up My New Email Account?\">Why Might I Want to Warm Up My New Email Account?<\/h2>\n<p>A new email account needs \u201cwarm up\u201d to increase\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/features\/deliverability-optimization\">deliverability<\/a>\u00a0and establish trust as a valid email account, not a spam account.<\/p>\n<p>Warming up a new e-mail address, and especially a new domain, is important in order to:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>Be able to\u00a0<b>send your full<\/b>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/how-many-emails-can-you-really-send-with-gmass-and-gmail\/\">limits<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Get the best possible\u00a0<b>deliverability to the inbox<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Minimize the chance that your account gets suspended for suspicious activity. (Though email warmup is against the terms of service, so you could get suspended for <em>that<\/em>.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"gmassbetter\">So should I consider warming up an old email account too?<\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re going to use an existing email account for high-volume sends, cold email, email marketing, and\/or other mass emails \u2014 and you&#8217;re not afraid of it potentially getting suspended for using warmup \u2014 then you can consider the service. That way, you\u2019ll train the email clients to anticipate larger campaigns from you \u2014 and that those campaigns belong in people\u2019s inboxes.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2 id=\"Email Warmup FAQ and Troubleshooting\">Email Warmup FAQ and Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"How many emails will be sent when I\u2019m warming up my email?\">How many emails will be sent when I\u2019m warming up my email?<\/h3>\n<p>A schedule might look like this:<\/p>\n<p><b>Day 1:<\/b>\u00a02 emails\/day<\/p>\n<p><b>Day 2:<\/b>\u00a04 emails\/day<\/p>\n<p><b>Day 3:<\/b>\u00a06 emails\/day<\/p>\n<p><b>Day 4:<\/b>\u00a08 emails\/day<\/p>\n<p>Every email that is sent is marked as \u201cread\u201d by the receiver. Some of the emails will also get replies.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, if your emails aren\u2019t landing in the inbox, this system can help with that. By sending emails that are automatically opened and replied to, you\u2019re improving your domain\u2019s reputation,\u00a0<b>which should result in better deliverability<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Do I need to do email warmup on an alias address?\">Can I do email warmup on an alias address?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"What email addresses are used for warmup?\">What email addresses are used for warmup?<\/h3>\n<p>When you activate warm-up on your account, emails will be sent from and to your account. The other addresses with which you\u2019ll correspond consist of other users who are also warming up their accounts and additional seed accounts we maintain internally.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"How do I stop email warmup?\">How do I stop email warmup?<\/h3>\n<p>If you decide you no longer want your account warmed-up, your warm-up service should be able to shut it off in your settings.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"How long does it take to warm up an email address?\">How long does it take to warm up an email address?<\/h3>\n<p>The general consensus is about eight to 12 weeks is the \u201csafest\u201d amount of time to warm up an email address before sending.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re using a brand new domain, you should aim for that time frame.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re using a domain that already has some email history, you can consider sending campaigns sooner (like after three to four weeks).<\/p>\n<p><b>Watch your warmup stats to see how your deliverability looks<\/b>\u00a0before you dive into your first campaign. And consider sending your first few campaigns to tight initial lists (where you\u2019ll get lots of opens and replies, and preferably no bounces).<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Do you have to do mail warmup when using an already established email domain?\">Do you have to do mail warmup when using an already established email domain?<\/h3>\n<p>You don&#8217;t <em>have<\/em> to do warmup from any domain. Warm up your specific email address on that domain before sending large campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you\u00a0<i>are<\/i>\u00a0using a domain with some history, you may need less warmup time than you would for a brand new domain.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Is email warmup safe for my account?\">Is email warmup safe for my account?<\/h3>\n<p>We\u2019ve never heard of an email provider shutting down an account for using a warmup service. However, times are changing. In fall 2022, Google instructed GMass to turn off its warmup system or lose access to the Gmail API access. It appears Google is no longer letting warmup go unchecked. So be sure it&#8217;s worth the risk.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Email Warmup: Next Steps\">Alternatives to Warmup<\/h2>\n<p>As we&#8217;ve said turning this article, warmup had a good run.
