Here are instructions if you want columns for<\/em> <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/set-cc-and-bcc-fields-in-a-mail-merge-from-a-spreadsheet-column\/\">CCing or BCCing extra recipients on your mail merge emails<\/a><\/em><em id=\"step-2-click-to-conn-vuay\">\u00a0\u2014 that will ensure the right emails wind up in the right inbox.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Step 2: Click to Connect<\/h2>\n<p>Head over to Gmail.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve already signed up for GMass, it\u2019s time to load the mail merge data from your Google Sheet. (If you haven\u2019t, it takes less than a minute. <a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/gmass-powerful-mail-merge\/ehomdgjhgmbidokdgicgmdiedadncbgf\">Install the Chrome extension<\/a>\u00a0to get rolling.)<\/p>\n<p>You can load recipient data in <strong>two<\/strong>\u00a0ways:<\/p>\n<p>1. And if it\u2019s the most recent sheet you edited, it should be at the top of the dropdown menu.<\/p>\n<p>The dropdown menu also has a built-in search function, which you can use to search through your Google Sheets as well.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/em><em>\u00a0The drop-down menu won\u2019t show any Excel files that are in your Google Drive. GMass doesn\u2019t connect to an Excel file directly, but you can easily convert your Excel spreadsheet<\/em>\u00a0<em>(or an existing CSV file) to a Google Sheet<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"the-spreadsheet-pick-iiha\">The spreadsheet picker<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/conngs-ssheetpicker-tinified.png\" launches Google\u2019s native Drive interface.<\/p>\n<p>This is particularly useful <strong>if you organize your Google Sheets into folders<\/strong>, or if you\u2019re looking for Sheets in <strong>shared folders on your organization\u2019s Google Drive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You can also use Google\u2019s search function here for an even deeper search into your Google Drive than the search in the GMass dropdown.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"manual-entry-tdxa\">Manual entry<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/conngs-manualentry-tinified.png\" <strong>connect to a Sheet that\u2019s public but hasn\u2019t been shared directly with your account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>(\u201cPublic\u201d is a loose term here as well. Let\u2019s say you have 100 GMass accounts and you want all 100 to be able to use the same Sheet, but don\u2019t want to take the time to share that Sheet with all the accounts. You could make it \u201cpublic\u201d but, of course, only you would know the URL.
