But <strong>what happens if you want to send a GMass campaign from someone <\/strong><em><strong>else\u2019s<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0account<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Like, for instance, your boss?<\/p>\n<p>There are actually <strong>two different techniques<\/strong>\u00a0you can use to send a GMass campaign from your boss\u2019s email account (or someone else\u2019s).<\/p>\n<p>Both have <strong>their own pros and cons<\/strong>. And fortunately, <strong>both are pretty easy to set up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, I\u2019ll go step-by-step through both techniques. I\u2019ll also cover the plusses and minuses of both so you can choose the method that\u2019s best for you and your team.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note: I use the terms \u201cboss\u201d and \u201cassistant\u201d throughout for clarity. However, this technique is applicable across many other use cases as well.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"sending-gmass-campai-bgmi\">Sending GMass Campaigns From Your Boss\u2019s Account: Table of Contents<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#technique-1-using-gm-qjqn\">Technique #1: Using Gmail Delegated Access<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#pros-of-using-the-de-yves\">Pros of using the delegated access technique<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#cons-of-using-the-de-ioux\">Cons of using the delegated access technique<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#how-to-set-up-delega-tewm\">How to set up delegated access for sending GMass campaigns through another account<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#technique-2-using-gm-nrop\">Technique #2: Using GMass MultiSend<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#pros-of-using-the-mu-bqmz\">Pros of using the MultiSend technique<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#cons-of-using-the-de-vpuo\">Cons of using the delegated access technique<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#how-to-set-up-a-mult-aaaq\">How to set up a MultiSend campaign to send through another account<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"technique-1-using-gm-qjqn\"><a href=\"#sending-gmass-campai-qphj\">Sending GMass Campaigns From Your Boss\u2019s Account: Final Comparison and Next Steps<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Technique #1: Using Gmail Delegated Access<\/h2>\n<p>Gmail has a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/mail\/answer\/138350?hl=en\">built-in feature called delegated access<\/a>\u00a0that allows you to give someone else access to your account.<\/p>\n<p>Using this feature, <strong>your boss can give you access to their Gmail account<\/strong>\u00a0(which includes you being able to read their emails and send on their behalf).<\/p>\n<p>Then you can <strong id=\"pros-of-using-the-de-yves\">send GMass campaigns through that account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Pros of using the delegated access technique<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s why you might want to use this method.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"1-the-assistant-send-mxge\">1. The assistant sends from inside the boss\u2019s account.<\/h4>\n<p>With this method, the campaign is fully owned by the boss\u2019s GMass account.<\/p>\n<p>That means the boss <strong>won\u2019t need shared analytics dashboards or any other type of shared access<\/strong>\u00a0to monitor it. They can also then use it as a future template, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/email-lists-reuse\/\">reusable list<\/a>, and more.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"2-this-method-doesn-nqwd\">2. This method doesn\u2019t feel like a workaround.<\/h4>\n<p>The other method I\u2019ll describe in this article is something of a hack. The delegated access technique is not.<\/p>\n<p>Both techniques work well; the <strong id=\"cons-of-using-the-de-ioux\">delegated access method is just a bit less convoluted<\/strong>\u00a0when it comes to where the campaign lives and how it\u2019s distributed.<\/p>\n<h3>Cons of using the delegated access technique<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s why you might not want to delegated access to send GMass campaigns from another account.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"1-the-assistant-now-fjlg\">1. The assistant now has full access to the boss\u2019s Gmail account.<\/h4>\n<p>This is THE big con of this method.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe your boss is comfortable with you having full access to read their entire email history and to send emails on their behalf. But\u2026 maybe they aren\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>If they aren\u2019t, they won\u2019t want you to get <strong>unrestricted and unmonitored access to their email<\/strong>\u00a0like this.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"2-this-technique-has-rgbr\">2. This technique has an extra setup step that \u201cfeels\u201d technical.<\/h4>\n<p>In order for the delegated access technique to work, you need to authorize your browser to send with your boss\u2019s GMass account.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s really just a cut and paste job (and I walk through it step-by-step below), but <strong id=\"how-to-set-up-delega-tewm\">it does feel a little technical<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>How to set up delegated access for sending GMass campaigns through another account<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s how to set up delegated access and then how to properly connect GMass.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"1-grant-access-in-th-sobd\">#1. Grant access in the boss account<\/h4>\n<p>Your boss needs to go into their Gmail account, then to <strong>Settings<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; <strong>Accounts<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; <strong>Grant access to your account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-grantaccess.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-grantaccess.png\" alt=\"Grant access to the boss's account\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1347\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p><em>Note: If you do not see this option, the most likely reason is your Google Workspace admin hasn\u2019t enabled it for your organization. They can do that in the Admin settings under Apps &gt; Google Workspace &gt; Gmail &gt; User Settings &gt; Mail delegation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>Add another account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the pop-up, add the person\u2019s Gmail account. Google requires them to be part of the same Google Workspace organization. (GMass does not, however, require the person to be on the same team plan.)<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-accessaddress.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-accessaddress.png\" alt=\"Enter the assistant's email address\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1248\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>Google sends an email to the assistant\u2019s address. From there, you can click the link to <strong>accept the request<\/strong>\u00a0to read email on your boss\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"2-set-up-gmass-to-wo-mbkh\">#2. Set up GMass to work for your boss\u2019s account<\/h4>\n<p>Now that you have access to your boss\u2019s account, you\u2019ll need to <strong>make one small tweak to GMass in your browser<\/strong>\u00a0to send campaigns on their behalf.<\/p>\n<p>Back on your boss\u2019s computer, in Gmail, go to the Chrome menu\u2019s <strong>View<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; <strong>Developer<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; <strong>Inspect Elements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Click on <strong>Application<\/strong>, then <strong>Local Storage<\/strong>, then click on <strong>mail.google.com<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-inspectelement.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-2\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-inspectelement.png\" alt=\"Pull up the Application elements\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1248\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>In the <strong>Filter<\/strong>\u00a0box, type <strong>key<\/strong>. This will bring up the GMass key for the account. Copy the value.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-copykey.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-3\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-copykey.png\" alt=\"Grab the key value\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1248\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>Now, over in the assistant Gmail account, follow the same steps. (Bring up the <strong>Inspect Elements<\/strong>\u00a0console in Chrome and go to <strong>Applications<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; <strong>Local Storage<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; <strong>mail.google.com<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n<p>Scroll to the bottom of the list. Then click the empty bottom row to edit it.<\/p>\n<p>In the left column (called the \u201cKey\u201d column), type in GMassKey-yourbossesemail@yourdomain.com \u2014 and this is <strong>case-sensitive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-typeinkey.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-4\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-typeinkey.png\" alt=\"Type in the GMass Key\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1170\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>And in the right column (called the \u201cValue\u201d column), paste in the value you copied from the boss\u2019s account.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-pasteinvalue.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-5\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-pasteinvalue.png\" alt=\"Paste in the boss's value\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1351\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>You can close the console and, just to be safe, reload the browser.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GMass now has the ability to send campaigns using your boss\u2019s email from your browser<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"3-sending-a-campaign-wnry\">#3. Sending a campaign from your boss\u2019s account<\/h4>\n<p>In your Gmail tab, click on the <strong>icon in the top right corner<\/strong>. That will bring up your list of connected accounts in the browser.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Choose your boss\u2019s account<\/strong>\u00a0from that list to open their inbox in another tab.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-switchaccounts.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-6\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-switchaccounts.png\" alt=\"Access the delegated account\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1209\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>Now create a GMass campaign as you normally would.<\/p>\n<p>Because you pasted in their GMass key, GMass will work for their account in your browser (as well as your own).<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-composecampaign.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-7\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-composecampaign.png\" alt=\"Compose and send a campaign\" width=\"1750\" height=\"1296\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>And here\u2019s how the campaign looks to a recipient. As you can see, there\u2019s no evidence this was sent by a delegate.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-campaignsent.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-8\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-campaignsent.png\" alt=\"The result is undetectable\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1245\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>That <strong id=\"technique-2-using-gm-nrop\">campaign is in the boss\u2019s Sent folder<\/strong>\u00a0and is <strong>visible in their GMass dashboard<\/strong>\u00a0(and elsewhere around GMass, like in their list of templates).<\/p>\n<h2>Technique #2: Using GMass MultiSend<\/h2>\n<p>The first technique in this article employed a Gmail feature. This second technique uses a GMass feature.<\/p>\n<p>For this method, <strong id=\"pros-of-using-the-mu-bqmz\">we\u2019ll use GMass\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/multisend-distributed-campaigns\/\">MultiSend inbox rotation<\/a> feature<\/strong>. If you\u2019re not familiar, that feature lets you distribute the sending of a campaign across multiple email addresses (not just your own).<\/p>\n<p>So we\u2019ll use it as a bit of a hack to send through your boss\u2019s account.<\/p>\n<h3>Pros of using the MultiSend technique<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s why you might want to use this method.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"1-the-assistant-does-xjwv\">1. The assistant does not have access to the boss\u2019s inbox.<\/h4>\n<p>As I mentioned earlier, the biggest downside to your boss giving you full access to their email account is, well, you get full access to their email account.<\/p>\n<p>If your boss wants you to be able to initiate campaigns from their account <em>without<\/em>\u00a0having access to their messages, <strong>that\u2019s only doable with the MultiSend method<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"2-even-though-the-as-olyd\">2. Even though the assistant doesn\u2019t have inbox access for their boss, they can still respond to emails that come in as replies to a campaign.<\/h4>\n<p>Thanks to GMass\u2019s unified inbox (called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/the-reply-project-fast-replies\/\">The Reply Project<\/a>), when someone replies to your boss\u2019s email in the campaign, <strong>you\u2019ll be able to read and respond to that reply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019d also be able to reply if you have delegated access \u2014 but in this case, you can see replies and respond to them even without being able to see your boss\u2019s <em>other<\/em>\u00a0emails.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"3-the-assistant-does-nojo\">3. The assistant does not have to be on the same Google Workspace plan as the boss.<\/h4>\n<p>With Gmail delegation, both accounts need to be in the same Google Workspace organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"cons-of-using-the-de-vpuo\">GMass\u2019s MultiSend does not have those restrictions<\/strong>. The assistant could be in a different Workspace organization \u2014 or even a free gmail.com\u00a0account.<\/p>\n<h3>Cons of using the delegated access technique<\/h3>\n<p>Here are the downsides of this method.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"1-the-campaign-is-ow-lhpf\">1. The campaign is \u201cowned\u201d by the assistant\u2019s account, not the boss\u2019s, so there\u2019s an extra step to share results.<\/h4>\n<p>With the MultiSend technique, you\u2019re initiating the campaign with your GMass account and just sending through the boss\u2019s email.<\/p>\n<p>That means your GMass account \u201cowns\u201d the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>So <strong>for your boss to monitor the results, you\u2019ll need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/sharing-campaign-reports\/\">share access<\/a><\/strong>. That\u2019s easy to do, but it\u2019s an extra step.<\/p>\n<p>This also means the assistant account is the one that has the template saved. (Again, it\u2019s sharable but that\u2019s an extra step.)<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"2-this-technique-is-dvdv\">2. This technique is only possible on Team or Professional plans.<\/h4>\n<p>MultiSend is only available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/pricing\">GMass\u2019s highest-tier plans<\/a>: the Professional plan and the Team plans.<\/p>\n<p>So if you have a different GMass plan, you\u2019ll need to <strong id=\"how-to-set-up-a-mult-aaaq\">upgrade to use this technique<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>How to set up a MultiSend campaign to send through another account<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s the method for using MultiSend to send from your boss\u2019s account.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"1-add-your-boss-s-ac-ftui\">#1. Add your boss\u2019s account as a MultiSend account<\/h4>\n<p>Head to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/dashboard-guide\/\"><strong>GMass dashboard<\/strong><\/a>. Open the <strong>Settings<\/strong>, go to <strong>Sending<\/strong>, and click on <strong>Manage MultiSend Accounts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-managemulti.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-9\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-managemulti.png\" alt=\"Open the GMass dashboard settings for MultiSend\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1202\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>Click <strong>Add a new account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Google oAuth<\/strong>\u00a0window will pop up and you\u2019ll need to log into your boss\u2019s account. (Or they can do it on your computer. You won\u2019t have regular access to their email; this is just granting access to <em>GMass<\/em>\u00a0and authorizing you to send GMass campaigns using their address.)<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-oauth.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-10\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-oauth.png\" alt=\"Authorize the boss's account\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1146\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve completed the authorization, your boss\u2019s account will appear on the list.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-connectedmulti.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-11\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-connectedmulti.png\" alt=\"The boss's account is connected to MultiSend\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1283\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<h4 id=\"2-create-a-multisend-vqwo\">#2. Create a MultiSend campaign with your boss as the only sender<\/h4>\n<p>Back in Gmail, create a GMass campaign as you normally would.<\/p>\n<p>Then go into the settings box, open the <strong>Advanced<\/strong>\u00a0section, and go to <strong>MultiSend<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-advancedsettings.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-12\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-advancedsettings.png\" alt=\"Go to MultiSend in the campaign settings\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1261\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>Check the box next to MultiSend.<\/p>\n<p>Then, in the dropdown, <strong>make sure only your boss\u2019s account is checked<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-onlychecked.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-13\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gmass.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/sendboss-onlychecked.png\" alt=\"Send only from the boss's account\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1264\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>So now, when you send the campaign, all emails will go out from your boss\u2019s email address.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>emails will be in their Sent folder<\/strong>\u00a0as well.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"sharing-dashboard-ac-diqe\">Sharing dashboard access with your boss<\/h4>\n<p>As I mentioned in the pros\/cons section, one of the downsides of this method is that the campaign \u201clives\u201d in your GMass account, not your boss\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>That means <strong>you\u2019ll need to share reports for the campaign with them<\/strong>.
