Gmail doesn’t have a native way to send HTML emails.<\/p>\n

However, you\u00a0can<\/em> send an HTML email in Gmail \u2014 it’s just not as easy as pasting HTML code into the compose window.<\/p>\n

Today, I’ll show you how to create HTML emails and send them in Gmail.<\/strong> The benefit of doing so is that you can design email campaigns and then edit and send them directly inside Gmail<\/strong>, either as a campaign or just as part of regular email correspondence.<\/p>\n

And once you\u2019ve done that, you can save your HTML email as a template to use again.<\/p>\n

Why importing HTML into Gmail \u201cdoesn\u2019t work\u201d<\/h2>\n

If you take HTML code and paste it \u201craw\u201d into the Gmail compose window, it won\u2019t render anything else \u2014 it will just appear as HTML code. So, HTML on its own won\u2019t help you format the shape or appearance of your emails.<\/p>\n

Here’s how to work around that.<\/p>\n

How to send HTML email with Gmail<\/h2>\n

There are three ways<\/strong> you can add\u00a0custom HTML<\/strong> into the Gmail Compose<\/strong> window.<\/p>\n

  1. Copy\/paste<\/strong> the rendered HTML into the Gmail Compose window.<\/li>\n
  2. Paste your HTML code into the Gmail Compose window using Chrome’s Developer Tools<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Use a Chrome extension<\/strong> to add an HTML editor to the Gmail Compose box<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Option 1: Copy\/paste rendered HTML into Gmail Compose Window<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Once you’ve written your HTML, the process is basically just a matter of copy and paste. You create your page in HTML, load it into a browser, copy the contents of the browser, and then paste it into Gmail’s compose window. <\/strong>By “rendered” HTML, I mean what the HTML looks like in the browser<\/strong>, with colors, fonts, and images in place.<\/p>\n

    Let’s run through a quick example of that.<\/p>\n
