"GMass’s founder, Ajay Goel, has created such an amazing set of tools and resources—and done so in such a wonderful way—that I feel a rating of nothing less than five stars is in order. That being said, to make this review of value to anyone who wants to read it, I will mention three aspects to using GMass that I myself would have liked to have known about up front: First—in my experience, anyway—it has been MUCH MORE DIFFICULT to understand and get set up with than first meets the eye. I watched one Capterra video review on YouTube in which a user says that everything is so simple that his tech-illiterate mother in her 70s was able to get it running immediately. That simply doesn’t jibe with my experience. Yes, the basics are simple enough to grasp but to actually get it up and running in a way that will be effective (maximizing the chances that your emails end up in inboxes, as opposed to spam), well, that has been an entirely different matter for me. I am going to stick with the program and try to make it work because I believe in its potential but I have experienced disappointment and frustration in the required adjustment of expectations. Second, to really harness the power and value of the program, you need to sign up for a Google Workspace account. If you try to just run it over a free gmail account, based on others’ expert opinions, you will not derive the full value of the program. There are lots of issues that arise with Google Workspace, many of which have so far been proving impossible for me to resolve. To cite one simple example, my profile photo is not showing up in recipients’ emails. I have posted about this in the Google “community” but no one has responded. Others have posted in the past, receiving no real solutions. Why does it matter that a profile photo show up on the receiving end? It’s a matter of credibility. I’ve gone through so much trouble and expense to put my list together that I really don’t want to diminish the response rate because of such issues. Third, after hours of reading, I’ve finally come to the disclosure that a new domain and email will call for a three-month “warmup” period before I can prudently begin my campaign. That of course is not the fault of GMass—GMass is to be credited for offering such an excellent warmup solution, at no charge. It’s just that I would have liked to have known about this earlier in the process. There are scores of documents to read through, to uncover important critical details such as this. I hope these comments are helpful to others, in case they may wish to adjust their expectations and plans accordingly."
